Students in Grades 10 and 11 and non-graduating grade 12 students, including those who are learning remotely, are required to work towards the literacy graduation requirement, through participating in the OSSLT, adjudication or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC).

This year, the OSSLT (Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test) will be written in the Fall and in the Spring.  Grade 11 students, and any grade 12 students who are not graduating this year, will write the OSSLT during the window from November 15-26, 2021.  Students will be assigned a specific day to write the OSSLT in their period 2 class.

Grade 10 students will write the OSSLT during the window of April 25, 2022 - May 13, 2022.

RESOURCES:

• Students will receive information to assist them in preparing for the test at school.  
• Students are also encouraged to access www.eqao.com for test information, practice test materials, and instructional assistance.
• All Grade 10 & 11 students will be enrolled in the Brightspace OSSLT Prep Course. This course will provide students with the test framework, self-directed lessons, and quizzes that provide automatic feedback.

All grade 11 students, and non-graduating grade 12 students, will attend a virtual assembly on Monday November 1, 2021 to ensure they have all necessary information to be prepared to write the OSSLT.  At this time we will also ensure all students are aware of the logistics of the writing day.  Here is the powerpoint from the assembly.
